It’s okay. With regard to certain aspects, I’m more than happy with it. However, certain things about it annoy the heck out of me. As in, things have a tendency of coming out blurry if I turn the Flash off. Also, when I don’t use Flash (turn if off, as opposed to having it set on Auto), I have to make sure not to move the camera three seconds afterwards or else the photo will look like a mess. The pictures aren’t as super sharp as I would expect them to be. They’re not bad and I’m definitely not complaining, I just thought they’d be a wee bit sharper.

I didn’t experience any problems with the Flash outside today and there was no delay, but taking photos in the apartment without flash will require a tripod because the camera does not want you to move and will show you a “shaky hand” icon.

sharpness: two of my cameras have been like that as well (sony mavica and olympus pocket camera)...just not very sharp images, which i generally have to filter > sharp in post-production (if you will).

i prefer not to use the flash, but find it next-to-impossible to get a clearly focused or steady indoor shot without it.

my canon powershot is much better in this regard. at twice the price, it had better be!

I was being to think that maybe I wasn’t using it correctly, because the photos look sharp as hell on the 2.5 LCD but then once they’re on the computer, they don’t look as hot. They look good but not as great.

They camera has a lot of on-camera features, I like the 3X optical zoom, Design Gallery Menu (Artistic effects, modifying color) the in-camera cropping and 10 second self-timer. It does borders, but they’re all fancy and none of them are a simple thin line around the edge of the photo (you know how sometimes when you hyperlink a photo, the hyperlink code makes a tight border around the photo).

Being that this is my very first digital camera, I like it, and hope to learn a lot from it.
